doves could be seen as the embodiment (epiphany) of a divinity, a representation of a goddess in a bird form near her sacred place — in a shrine or on a tree. The doves are interpreted as an emblem of a celestial goddess and are a symbol of her heavenly power. A dove flies down from heaven “It brings a small white Wafer to the Stone and leaves it there. The Dove all dazzling white, then flies up to heaven again… from which the Stone receives all that is good on earth of food and drink of paradisal excellence. In Genesis, following the Flood, Noah sends forth a dove from the ark, and the dove came back with an olive branch in its mouth: a sign that the waters had receded enough for an olive tree to grow.
