I give thanks for the sacred divine and holy marriage – with the bride representing the “incarnate self” and the bridegroom representing the “disincarnate Self.”(1) The goddess symbolizes the divine presence within the physical world while God symbolizes the transcendent spirit; the sacred marriage is necessary to unite the physical and spiritual worlds in order to engender the fertility that brings forth life.
