Maoridom has been under a lot of attack by the Government making it hard to address this issue and not have it seen as further attacks but by one of their own and this simply is not the case. In other cultures this is known but I have yet hear about this in Maori culture Having walked the last 30 years in Maoridom and spiritually I have never heard of the use of magic mushrooms in spiritual ceremony by the indigenous Maori, having spoken to others I have not had it affirmed in other IWI either.
What is alarming about this research and making it so public is that many seeking a high will now have the knowledge of what these mushrooms look like and without knowledge use them which has a high potential of illness and fatality
As for its use as a rongoa I can not categorically state it was not used in ancient maoridom. That this study while legal is happening those that use this drug for purpose of highs and let us be clear it is a class A drug will no doubt feel justified in using it which has great possibility of seeing further deaths from its usage.

Given what I have shared here it would not be out of the realms of possibility that this research and its agenda using the treaty is an abuse and an excuse at the very least not warning of the dangers of its use to the public reeks of a certain kind of apathy and or concern on just how toxic mushrooms can be.

Weraroa in the native tongue of New Zealand means ‘long burn‘, more than likely referring to a fire of considerable extent and long duration that made the clearing.
Aptly named as the ingestion of such mushrooms take time to kick in can have on going issues of flashbacks and mental health and even more long term death. I did not see any warnings to the public in the articles on the research. A DANGEROUS OMISSION.
