Every person in our country has been touched by the earthquake February 22nd in Christchurch. We will never be the same again from the events of this day and those following.  The response of the Nation immediate, the world quickly following.

When alerts went out by cell phones, phone calls, Radio or Television our countries people began the vigil to an event that has rocked us to our very core. As surely as the images of devastation lay before our eyes instantly the images opened our hearts to beat with your rhythm Christchurch,  to beat with your losses, and your victories as we hold vigil.

I have not heard finer words, nor seen greater deeds, than those over the last few days. Love with  no boundaries took full flight in a graceful flow of practical, dignified, and constructive, strokes on the journey to bring you the people of Christchurch, our people, all that is possible.

To the families who have lost loved ones in the greatest loss that shall come out of these events my heartfelt condolences and hope that what we do brings you a measure of comfort and peace in the time ahead. My sincere wish that in time the wounds of your hearts shall stop bleeding and you shall become strong again to go on and live life well.

To all in Christchurch I join with all expressing love, well-being, and staying safe to those who are there doing what ever it takes to make sure you the people of Christchurch are all brought back from this disaster with as much support as you need.

In my heart lays true thanks to all who are in Christchurch be you our Prime minister sending ability and aid to our people, be you those comforting families waiting for news of their loved ones, neighbours helping each other, or coroners ensuring that our loved ones, who lay waiting identification, are never left alone. No matter who you are all are heroes and you have brought to life the wisdom of a great chief; The wealth of any nation tis the people tis the people, tis the people.

In my heart lays true Thanks to all the International Prime ministers and their people for the aid you bring to our shores and thanks to the spiritual leaders, indeed all who have sent condolences from around the world.

Truly, watching such events in other countries, we are always glad to do our bit when called too, even so our hearts ache for those we aide.  Now we say thank you with relief and gratitude that you stand at our sides as we go through the pain of this event. Christchurch has brought us together united in the common goals of humanity, saving life, assisting victims, and country in its days of need. In this harmony of co-operation where dignity, precision, and practicality lives surely it expresses a behavior, a love for all in the world that makes for a better one.
